    I just opened a lunchbox-size bag of Jay's Hot Stuff (craving salt after being on the beach most of yesterday and overhydrating afterward). And with the new owners, it seems not the same as I remember:
    * Not as spicy
    * A slight but distinct "barbecue potato chip" flavor

    Now, the Hot Stuff chips have always had a bit of variability in the heat level, but I've never had a bag I could eat without a beverage before. I could be I've finally broken through the next capsaicin tolerance level, but I think they're skimping on the cayenne, and substituted chili powder.

    Has anyone else noticed? Do we have another Frango-level debacle developing now that their corporate HQ is in Pennsylvania?

    Joel,

    I've noticed that with both the Jay's Kettle Chips and several of the Krunchers flavors, the chips aren't as "sturdy" as before. They're now closer to a Lays type texture. The spice levels on the Krunchers has always seemed inconsistent to me - sometimes good and spicy and the next bag barely any flavor.
