It appears that O'Fame (formerly on Webster, now at Western and Berteau) has closed. The sign and website say that they are closed for the holidays starting June 29th. Unless the holidays include Labor Day, I think they would be open now. An additional sign in the window says "For Lease".

I am not exactly sure what I'm going to do without their garlic, oil, and tomato pizza. Probably lose a few pounds....

You can always travel a little further EAST and try the delicious GO&T pizza at Bojono's. We've never eaten there, only had it delivered. Great crust that seems to have some herby seasoning in it. We order it well done.

Interesting - I don't believe I've ever had anybody's GO&T pizza (and sorry I missed O'Fame's if it was good, as it is pretty close). Now I've got a hankering to try it. (might want to update the directions to advise people to head EAST of O'Fame, though, rather than north).

Looks like a new Japanese place has opened on Irving Park just east of Western. It's called, Mio Bento. The only mention of it I could dig up was on Yelp. Apparently they are only open for lunch now, but plan to offer dinner soon. Seems like it's quick sushi. I'll have to give it a whirl when they do dinner.

Sad. We were a little suspicious when we called for delivery last week and got voicemail similar to the sign on the window and the website.

I've never tried Bojono's... does anyone know offhand what their delivery area is? I don't find a website for them. O'Fame was one of the few great pizza joints (along with Marie's and Art of Pizza) that delivered to the pizza delivery dead zone that I live in (near Montrose & California.)

Noticed yesterday that another mediterranean place is going into the Location of the Damned on Lincoln between Wilson and Leland previously held another mediterranean place, Skewerz.

Seems like throwing worse money after bad money, but maybe they'll make a go of it.

There's another taco/burrito joint going into the old Con Sabor Cubano space as well.

Has an "opening soon" sign in the window, but we ate at HWD a couple weeks back and they were clearly open to the Nigerian community: it was packed, and the music bleeding through the walls made for an interesting cultural mash-up. I think there was some kind of wedding? At any rate, they're "sort of" open, which is why I didn't post.

Chuy's Chicken at 3652 Lawrence is closed with a For Lease sign in the window.

When I drove on Sunday there was a new awning that said something like "Nick's BBQ Pit". The Chuy's sign had not been replaced. It looks like the For Lease sign was gone, windows were covered.

It's a sign for Nick's Pit Stop, same font and design as the Bucktown location. I've enjoyed that place for over a decade and have always thought about mentioning it in the Places That Don't Get the LTH Love thread. Would be a nice addition to Albany Park if it happens.

Their website only reflects the Gold Coast and Streeterville locations, so I think it's safe to say it's gone for good.

Apparently they've been there for three years, yet all this time I didn't even realize they had a Lincoln Park location.

there is a sign up & construction at 2045 North Ave for a joint called "J. Wellingtons".

Considering "Wimpy" from the Popeye cartoons was really "J. Wellington Wimpy" and the sign had a Wimpy-like bowler hat on it, perhaps this is a burger joint ?

Will they let me pay them on Tuesday ?

Yesterday, the business owners around Minnies looked on in confusion as the tiny-portions restaurant emptied its store of its chairs, tables, silverware—and, yes, probably those miniature burger buns, too. By midday, brown paper had been plastered on the windows and signs had been hung. “Sorry, we’re closed,” they said. But that doesn’t quite get to it: The restaurant is gone for good. Apparently in this economy people don’t want to drop two dollars on a sandwich sized to feed Barbie. And that’s something not even an endorsement from the President could change.

The space housing the short-lived Zahrat el Madaen has signage for Chicago's Big Dog with a coming soon sign in the window as well as a lighted open sign. I wonder if this isn't another ill-conceived project in part because that stretch of Kedzie does not have a lot of foot traffic.

Sadly, an Evanston branch is not in the long-range plan. . . *sigh*)

At least that Taylor Street Italian place is gone. I ate there twice and both times where awful, so much for giving a place a second chance. Sushi/pan-Asian isn't there one of those just down the street on central. :|

Yessir - two, in fact, IIRC. One's called Pinto, on the North side of Central (next to the post office, or at lease close by); the other, on the south side, is just a few doors away to the east (between the Christian Science Reading Room and Bluestone). The name of that one escapes me.

There is a Mista opening at Clark and Balmoral between the tanning salon and Restoration.

    http://www.yelp.com/biz/mista-chicago

    (that's the Lakeview one)

It's cracker crust pizza, some other italian things too - fresh, organic.

But seriously....... Great Lake is around the corner, Calo is almost next door, and a block south is Homemade Pizza Co. and across from that is Ranalli's.

I wish Andersonville would put in something besides pizza. We have more than enough already. I'm sure this will be good, and I like cracker crust - but we're oversaturated.
