    I'd be up for it.

I currently have an Amarillo/Cascade APA, Orval Clone (spent 9 months on Brett B after a wy3522 primary) and a Hefeweizen on tap (and a dead keg of dunkel). Will be kegging a Lagunitas IPA and a Hoppy American Brown in the next week. Also have 10 gallons of a Delirium Tremens type tripel fermenting (normally culture DT yeast from bottle for it but decided to try same recipe with wy3787 and wy1762).

I'm in. When/where? I have a Scottish Export-style ale in secondary, as well as an Old Ale (with Brett) - but the latter won't be ready for a year or so. Lots of stuff in bottles - a wit, a couple of IPAs, etc. I can even bring the weird smoked rye beer that I foisted upon Randy Mosher.

well I guess the options are 1) somebody host or 2) we find a friendly bar who'll let us bring in our own beer. If I'm missing an option let me know. I'd be happy to host but I live farther south than a lot of people are willing to travel it seems. Anybody more centrally located want to step up? Alternatively, I know Goose Island Clybourn allows similar events from time to time.

As for when, a Saturday afternoon sounds like a good time for me, though this coming weekend I'll be out of town.

I'd be up for this as well. Would like to get to know some fellow LTH'ers/Homebrewers. My beer is all kegged too, but I could fill up a few growlers for sure. Altho I haven't gotten around to finding an easy/succesfull way to do that yet.

2 or so PSI on the tap and just pour it at a 45 degree angle. Worked for me last time with minimal foaming.

I have no home brew to contribute, but I do have a suggested venue. Rather than a bar, a byob restaurant with beer-friendly food seems like a natural choice. Pizza seems like a no brainer, and I really like the lard-crusted square pies at byob Pizza Rustica. Or there's always Honey 1 tips and links.

I've never been to Pizza Rustica, but I'd love to try it. Does someone want to pick a date and post it on the Events board? Say next Saturday?

And don't worry if you have no homebrew to bring, Kenny, I'll bring an extra one on your behalf. But you'll have to pretend you like it.

I don't think you'll be able to bring your homebrew into an establishment and drink it there?

    Hi,

In Chicago, there are many restaurants who allow you to bring your own. This is something unusual in other parts of the country. In Chicago it is an asset to note you're BYOB at some restaurants for attracting diners.

Sure. I frequently bring homebrew to BYOBs. Except with homebrew, sometimes the staff will ask for a sip.

Pizza Rustica sounds pretty good, and I'm always up for Honey1. How about Saturday the 15th? That way the wit I bottled last night will probably be ready and I'll have 3 beers for sampling.

From experience, I recommend Pizza Rustica only on non Cub gamedays. There is a home game on the 15th. Not the 22nd though.

If we do the 22nd, my Scottish Export Ale might be ready. I'm busy that evening, but could do an afternoon event.

we're never gonna get this thing done if we don't call a date. August 29th there's a Cubs home game in the afternoon so Pizza Rustica is out (let's do something there sometime though) but I don't see any other events to conflict (other than Taste of Highland Park and I'm not likely to get up there). So will the 29th work? And where can we BYOB away from Wrigley that afternoon?

I bet if you put in a call to RB Chicago or GI Clybourn theywould be willing to accomadate a homebrew/byob event.

I know they would, at least Goose Clybourn because I've spoken with them about it, and Pete Crowley at Rock Bottom is usually pretty cool about stuff like that. I've also spoken with Map Room management about doing a homebrew meetup and they were agreeable (though I imagine they'd prefer that we drink some of their beer as well) But the thread consensus seemed to be leaning toward a BYOB restaurant so that's what I was planning on.
