    6th LTH Dessert Exchange

It's the 6th LTH dessert exchange and I'm hosting for the month of August.

Jyoti's home (Arlington Heights - parking is available)
    Monday, August 10
    6:30 p.m. - 9:30pm
    Bring a dessert to share.

Here is the basic format for the dessert exchange:
    1) I’ll serve a light dinner (TBD... making sure that we have plenty of room for sweets!)

    2) Bring one recipe size of any dessert – no doubling or tripling of recipes needed! There will be plenty to sample and take home.

    3) Bring a container or two to transport your dessert assortment home.

    4) Come hungry!

I'd like to keep the guest list to 10. If you're interested in satisfying your sweet tooth, please RSVP and let me know what you are bringing. I will start a list.

I was excited to see that this dessert exchange is in the northwest suburbs. I would be interested in attending, but might be late. Is that ok or not? I am not sure if all participants need to participate in the dinner portion of the evening.

I'll bring some kind of dessert which contains fruit. I know that is vague. I'll update my posting when I figure it out. Maybe lychee-ginger sorbet if I can find fresh lychee.

I decided not to bring a sorbet because it is not easy for people to bring this kind of dessert home. I might bring Pineapple Cake. This is like a square shortbread cookie containing pineapple jam. I was toying with the idea of bringing a dessert soup like sweet red bean soup or mochi, but this might be too strange.

In that case, I'll bring pineapple cake, red bean soup, or mochi. I'll try these out on my family and see which one they like better. If my candied ginger turns out, I'll bring it.

I was starting to think about making plum cake since I found Italian Prune Plumbs at Costco yesterday (a bit early this year). But I'll stick with the Peach Kuchen since I'm getting a favorable response. I had thought that I might make plum cake if I decide to attend the LTH picnic in September.

Are you going to send out your address via email?

Do the desserts have to be nut free? I don't know if I can make a dessert which contains lotus seeds.
