There's a "preview party celebration" on Thursday, Aug. 13 from 4 to 10 pm.

I just received a $10 off coupon for the grand opening in today's mail. Since I started this thread over 2 years ago, I suppose I'd better show up. :)

Seriously, between the openings of La Frescacita on Clark, Morelia on Western, and now Dominick's on Ridge, almost all of my grocery needs are almost being satisfied within walking distance. Now, if Paulina Meat Market could open up a Rogers Park branch....

i went to the new Dominick's yesterday. It's just a Dominick's. Albeit, a nice shiny new one with friendly and engaging employees since it's brand spankin' new, but it's still just a regular ol' Dominick's. So the hype about being a "lifestyle" concept store left me a bit disappointed. But on the flip side, it's a nicer Dominicks than the Edgewater one I go to..AND they actually have baggers!!

One thing they did have that I thought was cool was a section of produce with more "exotic" items...Chinese long beans, fresh favas, different varieties of eggplant and, most interestigly, fresh turmeric.
