Just came back from a week in east Tennessee. Absolutely beautiful country.
Visited Knoxville while we there and went to a rib joint named Calhouns. While I am not usually a rib person, since they are known for their ribs I thought I'd give it a try. Glad I did as I thoroughly enjoyed them. The meat just fell off the bone and their homemade sauce was quite yummy (they sell it at the front of the restaurant). Desserts were also spectacular. My husband and I shared the key lime pie (tart, the way Iike it) and my son loved the tiramisu cheesecake.
Looks like they have locations in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

THE PARSNIP - Ogden Nash
The parsnip, children, I repeat
Is simply an anemic beet.
Some people call the parsnip edible,
Myself, I find this claim incredible.
