Freezer Jam Pectin

I bought freezer jam pectin somewhere on our two weeks of travels through northern Illinois, Southeast Wisconsin, Southwest Wisconsin and Amish Indiana. Love the stuff as it is low sugar or no sugar splenda (I'm diabetic) and no cook which gives the jam a great intense flavor of the fruit. Now I need more and can't find any. Does anyone know where to get it, especially in the northern or northwest suburbs.

It is my understanding pectin comes with instructions for freezer and regular cooked jam. To verify, I just opened a package of Ball Fruit Jell, circa 2005, has instructions for both cooked and freezer.

The instructions are missing from my Sure-Jell, but you can call them to verify: 800/437-3284, weekdays 9 AM - 4 PM Eastern Standard time. I have never seen pectin instructions that didn't have both freezer and cooked instructions.

I did see over at Ball's website they are touting a freezer jam specific pectin. Walmart is often a good source for Ball stuff. Their help line is 800-240-3340, weekdays 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Eastern Standard time.

As it turns out my husband went to Do It Best Hardware on Dundee in Northbrook today and called me to tell me they had the pectin. I have used the others in years past, I still have some sure jel on the shelf from last year. For some reason this seems to make a much better tasting jam then the others. It calls for a cup and a half of sugar or splenda crushed fruit and the pectin thats it just mix and eat or freeze.

For your future reference, I've found it at more than one Target, but they seem to only stock it for a short time in the summer.
