Count on the entire Irisarbor family this year (I think), Myself +4
I will probably bring my "almost famous" chipotle guacamole & chips, and a 2 gal container of sweet tea
Although I have turned into a smokin' fool since I bought my WSM and Gary's book,
that may be a little too ambitious for me to cart along, etc.
The fave around my house has been the smoked meatloaf covered with a bacon weave...
If I do one ahead of time, maybe I will bring it, reheated it is not too shabby also...

I'm in +2. I'm not positive yet what I'm bringing, but I'm leaning toward my bacon apple pie. I'm really looking forward to this...the picnic last year was my first ever LTH event. It's been a great year!

My wife and I look forward to this event every year, so count the two of us in (food choices pending) plus our 2 year old, who will eat 2 crackers and maybe a pickle. My brother (Soft Boiled) also expressed interest last time I talked with him, so please make it 3 total, but I will amend this if he can't attend. We will probably not show up until 1 pm, after the little one has napped.

I think she should make one for me to test in advance of the picnic. I wouldn't want any LTHers to eat it without it being properly vetted. :D

I get back from a trip to Holland & Belgium the day before, so I'll be jet-lagged perhaps, but I will be definitey there.

As to what I'll bring... maybe some sort of pickled herring type thing from Holland... it can go on the foul-smelling table off to the side along with the Malort and durian (I did see that Viet Hoa had fresh, never-frozen durian...).

Given some time, hopefully I'll be able to bring some sort of processed pork something (pate, sausage, etc).

Yes, I am running the Chicago Half Marathon that morning, but I would like amend what Mike G said above--I will try to make it and hope to be very hungry, though I will be very tired. Therefore, change Mike G +2 to Mike G +3.

    Thanks for organizing this, Cathy!

    Cathy,

Last we saw each other, you said I should come to the picnic. If it's O.K. for a newbie, I'd love to come plus my husband and daughter (12). I will bring a half-sheet pan of plum cake (German recipe). I can also bring more plastic utensils and I have a five gallon coleman drink cooler that I can either fill with ice tea or lemonade. I also have a card table available and a small folding picnic table for four.

    Hi,

I'm glad everybody is biting at the bit to attend.

FYI - I will update the list on the board every few days or every day when it is intense. If you posted after an update and don't see it reflected immediately. Don't worry, it is on the spreadsheet.

    Regards,

Just a heads-up, I am bringing down my Weber grill, I will probably not use it but will bring it for others to use(city dwellers or others, who either use public transportation, or dont have a large vehicle to easily lug a grill). Folks will be on their own for lump charcoal for fuel.

We should get down to the picnic around 10:30 if that works into anyone grilling needs.

I'm struggling to come up with something clever to bring.
Barring that, I've got a bucket of veggie chili in the freezer that's quite tasty (four or five kinds of beans, plus grilled eggplant for body), and Sue's bound to bake something decadent.
