There is no reversing the effects of mistakenly adding cayenne for paprika.

I was salivating while I am making tonite's fixings:

green beans with funky pesto(beans in a paste made from roasted peppers, cilantro, parsley, walnuts, parmesan, olive oil).

patatas bravas(fried potatoes tossed in a thick tomato, onion, garlic, paprika pureed sauce)

New York Strip stove top-grilled on the seasoned cast iron skillet(I wouldn't want to live without it)

But we're doing without the yummy potatoes because instead of a tablespoon of paprika, I added a tablespoon of powdered cayenne to the sauce as it bubbled away. I had the cayenne out to put in a sprinkle, or two.

I've been coughing for awhile now and my eyes are burning all the way in another room!

I'm fine with just the bread, steak and beans. Another day for the patatas. I'm too lazy to start again....

    HI,

I can commiserate with your feelings. I once sprinkled cayenne-type pepper on deviled eggs, I had looked at the color and didn't read the label.

When people grabbed those innocent looking deviled eggs with the attractive dash of red, they just popped them into their mouths. Lots of egg bits started flying around the room as the less than spicy tolerant raced to get those eggs out of their mouth.
