Looks like more solid plans to come to the Chicago area have been worked out.

Missed two chances to give it a try. Once in Lafayette, IN when we opted instead to go to XXX and while traveling thru Quad Cities and it turned out to be in a mall when we were looking for a drive thru.

Hoping it lives up to the hype!

this is very good news getting a Chick-Fil-A int he area.

I had wanted to try Chick-Fil-A for years, but never had gotten around to it during my travels. Made sure to change that in Florida last month. stopped @ a Chick-Fil-A for lunch before heading to St. Pete Beach, and had a good lunch.

For a fast food sandwich it was brilliant, it really puts anything McD's, Wendys, etc offers to shame, and those other places chicken sandwich offerings are not even in the same league imho.

Flavorfull juicy chicken, nice waffle fries, and a good shake for a fair price. Plus Texas Pete's packets at the condiment station.

Looking forward to Chick-fil-a in Chicago. Used to live in Florida and eat there from time to time. Now everytime I see one my mouth starts to water. Not the greatest food ever, but one of the better fast food options for sure.

    From news link above:

In Aurora, Chick-Fil-A would buy a former Smokey Bones restaurant at 4435 Fox Valley Center Drive, Mr. Featherston confirms. That structure would be demolished to make way for a 4,000-square-foot restaurant, according to BidClerk.com, a Web site that tracks construction projects.

Well the Aurora location is back in flux.

It appears from recent posting of new signage, that the Smokey Bones location is back on the market.

Chick-Fil-A might just have backed out of this location.

Would not be the first. Cheeseburger in Paradise has gotten a building permit twice in the past 5 years to build in the Meridian development on Rt59 and Liberty, just north of Fox Valley Mall. Nothing has ever come of that.

Is this over sized processed chicken nugget from a mall food court, really worthy of this many posts?

You people have created enough banter to justify it as a GNR!

You ought to be ashamed of yourselves, because this place really sucks!

McDonald's had coupons for free Southern fried chicken sandwich and breakfast sandwich. Both were created in response to Chick-Fil-A. I wasn't overwhelmed by the lunch offering. I really liked the chicken and biscuit for breakfast.

There is a Chick-Fil-A in a mall in Racine, while interested just not enough to actively pursue it. If and when I happen upon a Chick-Fil-A, I will be interested in their breakfast sandwich at the very least. Their lunch will have me swoon, if it includes biscuits.

    I like to try everything.

    Regards,
The Regency Mall location in Racine does serve breakfast, but only on Saturdays. Kind of strange that they would make the effort to have all the breakfast items for one morning a week. You might want to call ahead to make sure. Otherwise, no biscuits during the rest of the day. I'll be heading to Chick-Fil-A next Friday for breakfast in Mishawaka, IN while I'm staying in Berrien Springs, MI. As I've stated a few times - the chicken biscuit sandwich is the best thing on their menu. :)

I heart Chick-Fil-A's multigrain bagel chicken (and egg) breakfast sandwich.

Otherwise it's chick-fil-a on golden wheat. large waffle fries no salt (i bring my own lawry's seasoning salt in my car) and a large sweet tea with a splash of lemonade (both made in house without any mixes).

    you guys are missing out.

closest location to Central Chicago (Loop) is Racine, WI or West Lafayette, IN.

FWIW, for those of you near a Chick-Fil-A, on Monday September 7, if you wear a shirt with the name of your favorite college or pro sports team on it in any participating Chick Fil A, you get a free sandwich. I highly suggest using the money that you have saved for one of their kick ass peach milkshakes.

Now that's nice. An hour's trip to Orland Park beats having to fly home for a Chick-Fil-A, or even better a Big Chic's Chicken Filet from my hometown an hour+ south of the ATL.

If you're ever in the central Georgia towns of Thomaston, Barnesville, Forsythe, Griffin, or Manchester, ya gotta visit Big Chic: http://bigchicfranchise.com/index.html

Order it with a toasted bun, mayo and extra pickles. Trust me on this...

While at a conference this week, I got confirmation from some of the folks who do location strategy at Chick-Fil-A that Location #2 will be in Naperville. (Not sure exactly where.) I also wrangled a couple of free sandwich coupons from them, too! It was kind of an embarrassing "fangirl" experience for me... I might have gushed a little excessively.

I checked their website and there are no scheduled openings in Illinois through February 11th, 2010.

Nearest open restaurant is in Racine.

No idea as to the construction status in Aurora.

While i never really post anything because I don't really feel like I have much to say, I thought I would share this. There's one Chick-Fil-A in Illinois that I know of. It's downstairs in the U of I student union building food court.
