Anyone? I'm thinking 30 bux pp just for the food. (booze / tip not included)
Will have a car. i eat anything, but d/c is not very adventurous. If can't find anything better, I'm leaning towards some joint called Modo Mio which has a 4 course prixe fix for 33.00. Will be in Center City, but have a car. Hole in the wall is fine. Looking for best food and conversation friendly. Maybe not Indian or Thai, although the d/c said they would try anything since I kinda have a clue about "exotic" foods. I've never spent any real time in Philly, so I'm clueless. Only going for one night. Tonight.
We cannot be friends if you do not know the difference between Mayo and Miracle Whip.

What about Monk's for a lively belgian bar scene with fantastic beer and moules frites? Maybe not formal enough, though...
is making all his reservations under the name Steve Plotnicki from now on.

No, no, no - sounds great. Not looking for anything formal. Not a "business" dinner just a friendly dinner with a co-worker. Thanks!

Might want to call ahead to make sure they are open. This was a little bit over a week ago.

    I think Monk's is a great choice.

Osteria might be pricier than you'd like but I've had two fantastic meals there - the charcuterie is outstanding. http://www.osteriaphilly.com/

I had a very good brunch at this place, but I'm sure dinner will be good.

Very casual, fireplace type place, food isn't very original, but everything we had was great, and the staff was wonderful.

The reason we went to Philly was because we wanted to go to

The food was good, but it was just a cool place to check out. It's a price fix, and you eat what she cooks that day.
    Wine and liquors included.

My two favorites right now are Zahav and Amada. Osteria is likewise outstanding, as is Vetri.

Haven't been to Amada, but I agree about Zahav . . . excellent.
