Does anyone know who carries Emmi yogurt in Chicago? I'm specifically looking for the Pink Grapefruit flavor, but I'll happily buy any of their other flavors, too.

I've seen it at Fox & Obel. It might be on the shelves at Whole Foods, too.

I've never had Emmi yoghurt. What makes it worth seeking out?

Emmi is a Swiss yogurt...more details here. It's very rich and tangy, not like the chemical-y sweet, thin yogurts you find in most grocery stores here.

I'm not certain, but I believe I've seen this yogurt at Foodstuffs.

I checked Whole Foods with no luck.

I'll try Fox & Obel although it's pretty hard for me to get down there. I might order it in a case from somewhere in Evanston that apparently has it as a "pre-order". (I guess you order it, pay for it, and then you pick it up?)

It's a good, not-to-sweet yogurt, and in the grapefruit variety, the flavor of the fruit is really pure, without being bitter. It's also very low calorie, without tasting like a diet food.

I'll check out foodstuffs.com as well.

    Thanks everyone!

Rachel B., where do you buy Emmi yogurt in Chicago? Muesli yogurt sounds interesting!

I did go buy some at Fox and Obel last week, but all the pink grapefruit yogurts expired on the day that I bought them, so I didn't buy very many...which was bad for my belly but good for my wallet, at $1.99 a pop. I tried to get them to give me a discount, but no deal.

Oh, I used to get them at Marvelous Market in DC. I don't remember seeing them in Chicago.

Not in Chicago, but I noticed on Sunday that the Marion Street Cheese Market in Oak Park carries Emmi yogurt. Its a great little place (here's a thread) with friendly owners and a great selection of cheeses and other treats and certainly worth a trip.

I was at Eatzi's last night for the sole purpose of using yet another $20 gift certificate that they mailed to me. I stumbled across the grapefruit flavor, which I recognized only from this thread here.

I bought one container priced at $1.99. I ate it with my lunch today. It was interesting, but a bit less sour than I expected. I wouldn't buy it regularly, especially at $1.99/each, but I would buy it periodically to mix things up.

I think i bought this at A&G on Belmont a few weeks ago. I got the muesli one but there were other flavours. I remember the price at around 1.69 (because i thought it a bit expensive).

Thanks to this thread, I used part of a $20 Eatzi's gift certificate to buy Emmi's pink grapefruit and muesli flavored yogurts. It was really good, but at $1.99 (or even $1.69) a pop, I can't see myself buying it frequently. If anyone comes up with a less expensive source, I'd love to know about it.

I travel to work via Belmont and pass an amazing grocery store, A & G Fresh Market. It's at 5630 W. Belmont on the North side of the street.

Besides having the pink grapefruit yogurt, they have a huge selection of very diverse fruits and vegetables from around the world...persimmons, asian pears, jicimas, all at reasonable prices.

They also have an aisle totally dedicated to Polish food and another one dedicated to Mexican foood. The rest of the standard grocery items may be a little pricier, but I love going to this grocery store.

The have a wall with "mexican bakery" and an awesome selection of international sweets. They also have a fairly extensive bulk section as well.

Oooh, the last post on this topic was on my 40th birthday!

Sadly, I am re-animating this thread because A & G Fresh Market no longer carries Emmi yogurts of any kind.

    So...anyone know who else does??

Thanks in advance for any info, I apparently take yogurt waaay too seriously...

If you have some time on your hands, you can take a look at their website and weed out the stores that carry it:

Then let us know, because they sound tasty!

Caputo's on Harlem had been carrying it for some time, but have not had it for the past couple months. Perhaps it is not coming into this area anymore?

Through a series of happy accidents I ended up at Olivia's Market in Bucktown yesterday and lo and behold! Emmi grapefruit yogurt!
The person who was stocking the section said that they had just recently begun to carry it after a regular customer requested it, so hooray! I bought a half-dozen; they were $1.49 each.

The 6 Corners' Jewel now carries a few flavors of Emmi yogurt. I had the Pink Grapefruit for breakfast this morning and concur it's quite good. I enjoyed the strawberry a few days ago. I like the consistency, the mouthfeel, and that it's not overly sweet. A bit higher in fat than my usual 0% Greek brand though.

I will definitely be picking them up occasionally now that they are so readily available.
