Don't worry, I don't believe the originator of the phrase "you don't win friends with salad" (and its accompanying conga line) will be attending the picnic:

No need to apologize. Last minute changes and surprises are expected.

Ditto; happy to make changes and fix (my own) errors anytime - please feel free to post whatever is up! I will post the updated spreadsheet again sometime this evening, and again sometime tomorrow.

However, this is not a bad point to interject that I'm only human (well, sometimes less than human when it comes to details) so please don't take it as anything but input-error on my part if your food card/name tag is incorrect or missing - you can blame it on my befuddled Mom-brain (though it helps greatly if you double-check the spreadsheet for your own stuff, as you might catch errors there.)

I'm still deciding which tarts to bring and how to tweak them (I might even throw in a sweet tart). I probably won't know until, say, Sunday morning what I'm actually bringing. So, I'll bring my own food labels, OK?

I'm revising my plan slightly. No longer am I bringing my Weber kettle. However, in addition to my Old Fashioned station, I will also be bringing some home-made ancho sausages, which I would like to smoke on the Klose. I'm sure there will be more items, but that's all I've decided on for now.

We'll likely have some blanks. Bringing your own labels is a good idea.

I am at once humbled, proud, and a little bit disconcerted, but Sparky has decided to choose his own dessert. We might still be bringing a Derby Pie, but we will be bringing Mrs. Beaver's Sticky Marmalade Roll from the Narnia Cookbook from the library that he's been reading. Yes, you heard me. Not that I'm proud about it, or nothin'...

We'll be using some of the Strawberry-Clementine marmalade we canned earlier this year as a filling.

May call an audible here -- having produced several batches of the World's Greatest Cookie, The Wife and I are considering a switch this year to the World's Greatest Deviled Eggs. I made some gravlax with some St. Brendan's salmon (sustainable, of course), that I'm tempted to integrate into this receipe. As no one else is bringing Deviled Eggs, I'm assuming a last minute change like this would be no problem.

Well, that sounds better than trying to integrate cured salmon and hard boiled eggs into a cookie.

    Time:
    - 9 AM (or earlier by arrangement): I will arrive to reconfirm our picnic permit. Smokers and grillers may arrive to begin their cooks.
    - 10:30 AM: Help with tidying up, arranging tables and supplies.
    - 11:30 AM: Appetizers
    - 1:00 PM: Lunch (Note food will be coming out in waves as they are cooked or as people arrive)
    - 3:30 PM: Desserts
    - 5:30ish - Begin tidying up - please note this is everyone's effort.
    - 7:15 PM: Sunset - party over followed by the Park District chaining the driveway.

For those who have never attended before, this is a rough schedule. The reality is food comes in waves all day long.

FYI - I will be at the picnic grounds at 9 AM to show our permit and check that the space has been cleaned. If you need to be there to get your stuff rolling, you will have company.

A few people have offered to come at 10:30 to begin setting up. Any and all help is appreciated.

As people come and go, please tidy up as you go about to ease the clean up at the end of the day.

I have jumper cables, so any one stranded at the end of the day has a friend in me. :)

I, too, am late in RSVPing, but my good-for-nothing job never seems to resolve my schedule until the last minute - my apologies.

I will be attending, although I will be driving in from out of town, staying with friends, etc., so I cannot bring any prepared food items. I'll send a PM to Cathy2 and Mhays to see what they think I can contribute. I greatly look forward to meeting everyone!

LAST CALL!!! I'm about to post the final spreadsheet. It's 9:15pm, as of 9:40 I'm going to assume all the info I have is correct unless I've heard from you (and if you haven't heard back from me, don't assume I got your message!) Keep in mind that if you want your guests' tags to read something other than "Guest of ________" you need to explicitly tell me so - even if I was their godmother and named them myself I'm making no assumptions. (there should be pens for guests to write in their names.)

Starting after this spreadsheet is posted, please PM myself and Cathy 2 if you have nametag requests, food tag requests, error notifications, or any changes we need to be aware of.

Also, even if you don't post as such - it might not be a bad idea to consider filling your car with picnic extras like portable chairs, picnic blankets, outdoor games, umbrellas and of course folding tables...if they stay in your car, that's fine, but they sure might be handy to have!

Now excuse me, I have to put the liver in the blender....
