Hi. I just found this site and wanted to introduce people to our farm. We are in Crystal Lake, ILlinois, on an historic farm nestled in the middle of suburban sprawl. We are trying to keep the land open and are farming heirloom vegetables with a CSA and have added heritage animal breeds this year. We will be offering vegetable, fruit, meat, egg and mushroom CSA's next year and also classes and workdays at the farm. You don't even have to drive as we are within walking distance from the Crystal Lake train stop on the Burlington Northern line.

Workdays will include a tour, hands on instruction on growing, and a bag of available produce to take home.

My wife, Carolyn, is a nationally known food writer and former James Beard Committee member and will be teaching some cooking classes next year on selected dates. Email us at the website if you are interested in attending.

You can reach us through our website: http://www.WalkupHeritageFarm.com

Finally, something to relieve the boredom on many long drives to/from Crystal Lake. Thanks for the information. I saved a link to your website. I hope I get a chance to stop by soon.

I've bookmarked your site. Thanks so much for posting. Looks like it would be a great resource.
