I was there... got to tastes lots fo great ice cream. My favorites were the Bobtail's chocolate-covred bacon ice cream, Black Dog's red pepper gelato, Via Gelato's blood orange peach champagne and Clandestino's chocolate chili ice cream.

The lines were ridiculously long for a number of the booths, so they do need to work on the logistics for future events. But I see simple fixes, such as making sure each booth has enough people to have separate scoopers and servers, make recommendations on containers to use for transport/storage to best maintain optimal texture (some were melting, some were too hard to scoop). Also maybe have a single line that snakes past multiple tables, rather than waiting in one line, eat 2 bites, wait in another line for 20 minutes, eat two bites...

    But a nice evening overall.

I was there too - Clandestino's chile chocolate ice cream (with cauliflower ceviche counterpoint) was definitely tops. But the lines eventually melded into one long line that was impossible to break into. It was too much like going to Great America, for my taste.
"To get long" meant to make do, to make well of whatever we had; it was about having a long view, which was endurance, and a long heart, which was hope.
