Thanks. I thought so. I'll be in Rosemont for a conference tomorrow. It's easier to use the corporate card, but that's ok.

For a palate cleanser, head north on River Road after your meal and hit Las Asadas!

I'm pretty sure you're a full blown addict.

I thought about posting a suggestion for Las Asadas also.

I had a meeting out near O'Hare today and a coin flip pointed me toward Paradise Pup for lunch. My swiss burger and dog were as good as ever. My accompanying chocolate-banana malt was the perfect companion to the sandwiches. This place pumps out consistently great food year after year and never misses a beat. The only thing I noticed this time that was different than all the other times I've been there is that the bun seemed a little more pale than in the past. I don't know if this was just a batch of buns that missed getting egg washed or if they switched suppliers. Either way, it didn't seem to impact the quality of the burger.

Aaargh, I was in the area last week, drove up and down Mannheim Road looking for it, only to find it's on RIVER. Damn, will try again.

Just sing "take me to the riverrrrr" when you head there and you'll never forget.

Finally made it to Paradise Pup this afternoon. Got there around 2:45 and the line was 3 people out the door. After a 10-15 minute wait, we placed our order. Char Cheddar Burger, Jumbo Char Dog and a Chocolate Banana Shake for me. So so good. Just a simple grilled 1/3 pound patty that is juicy and flavorful. Char dog was good, but certainly the reason to go there was the burger. Chocolate banana shake was really good as well.

One great thing about Paradise Pup is that it is on my way to and from O'Hare. After picking up family at the airport yesterday, my visitor wanted a classic Chicago hot dog. Not in the mood for anything greasy, I tried the chicken sandwich for the first time. Perfectly grilled meat, not at all dry, with teriyaki glaze and that same great bun they use on their awesome cheddar burger. Raspberry iced tea was a nice option for a warm day. The hot dog also received a big thumbs up. I'm impressed with the high quality control at this place.

Great minds think alike. I also visited PP yesterday for the first time in a while. Pepper jack cheese burger was outstanding as always!

Hadn't been to Paradise Pup in ages, passed by yesterday and a convo with Steve Z about a terrific PP char burger he had a few weeks ago popped into my head. Was going to order the char burger, but went char Italian sausage, and a hell of a sausage it was. Hint of fennel, juicy, perfectly charred ordered with raw and grilled onion, sport pepper and mustard.

When I unwrapped simultaneous thoughts were this thing is pretty damn big and smells wonderful. Couldn't have been that big as shortly thereafter I found myself scooping up the last bits of onion with a french fry.

Fast, delicious, reasonably priced plus I got into an interesting conversation with a couple of regulars. Win win all around.

Paradise Pup, count me a fan!

I love the burgers at Paradise Pup, but one thing that annoys me on their menu is they call their regular fries "Famous Fries." They're frozen crinkle cut fries (similar to Brown's Chicken), fair at best (and I'm a french fry junkie). What makes them famous? To me, they're Infamous Fries. I'm going to ask them next time.
