Not all flourless chocolate cake is gluten-free, however: sometimes you'll wind up with a graham cracker crust or something else. You might be better off heading to a bakery that specializes in gluten-free: for instance, Rose's in Evanston

Frankly, flourless chocolate cake is dead-easy to make, yourself: it's basically dense chocolate custard. Here's a recipe from Epicurious. If you do a search there, they have a dozen or more recipes that all look delicious, but that's the most basic one I found (I think there are even more basic ones that eliminate the sugar and cocoa powder if you google - the basic premise being you melt chocolate and butter together, whisk in eggs, pour the mixture into a baking receptacle, and bake it until it sets. One tip - better chocolate = better cake.)

I love Rose Levy Beranbaum's Chocolate Oblivion Truffle Torte; it's my go to flourless chocolate cake. You can find the recipe here:

Agreed. I was recently diagnosed with celiac, a profound tragedy for someone who goes nary a day without a slice of cake or pie or other pastry. The Melt-in-Your-Mouth Chocolate Cake from Chocolate & Zucchini, which dansch brought to my attention, is by far my favorite almost-flourless chocolate cake. I do the melting in the microwave. It's super easy overall. My first gluten-free attempt at it happens to be baking in the oven right now, and it's looking pretty good!

Please do, whether you make it yourself or not! Pictures of chocolate are always welcome!
