Specifically looking for anyplace that would carry Satin Ice (that stuff from Wilton that Michael's sells is in packages that are too small and I need it pre-colored--plus, it just tastes downright NASTY).

I know I can order online, but I'm looking to save time/money here.

    Thanks in advance.

As another option, suck up to your local baker and see if he/she will let you score some.

Used the black fondant this weekend to make a 40th b-day cake for a friend:

Thanks, y'all. This was the first time making a fondant-covered cake where I wanted it to look like something (other than a 'present'). I think the most flattering compliment I got was when I walked over to cut it and realized someone (I'm guessing one of the little children there) had actually smooshed in the "play button," as if he/she were actually trying to start it.

It really looks amazing and real - right down to the x-box "label." Thanks for posting the pics for our enjoyment (even if we don't get to taste the cake).

The cake itself was a chocolate with a whipped chocolate ganache filling. The fondant was Satin Ice vanilla-flavored, which is the most edible fondant I've ever sampled. I don't make it from scratch...just too time-consuming and that Wilton stuff they sell at the craft stores...BLEHHHH. Gummy and nasty-tasting and very hard to color (especially if you need to go deep/dark) unless you can get your hands on good powdered food coloring. I've found Satin Ice to also be quite forgiving when you roll it out and I've always been able to get it pretty thin without it tearing.
