There is a new breakfast spot located just north of the wilmette metra station. From an ambiance perspective it is closer on the breakfast continuum to the bongo room then patty's diner, if that description makes any sense.

Anyway i had breakfast here after the gym on saturday and then with my folks, brother, sister, spouses and kids on sunday. The place is very kid friendly. that is about the best thing I have to say about Fuel. Things got off on the wrong foot when they served me orange juice from concentrate. If you are a breakfast lover you probably dont need to read much more of this review. Anyway, with 15 of us at breakfast I had an opportunity to see/try a bunch of different things. Nothing was noteworthy and a lot of things were done poorly. Pancakes were reminiscent of aunt jemima, coffee was weak and the omelletes were light on their described ingredients. I doubt Ill be back

On the positive side there is plenty of free parking

I've been to Fuel a couple of times and been very happy. The standout dish was corned beef hash with poached eggs and a mustard Hollandaise sauce (a special, but on the menu both times I was there). The corned beef hash was hands down the best I've ever had - large chunks of crispy fried corned beef. My only complaint - I wanted more. The Hollandaise was bright and lemony, the addition of whole grain providing an accent to the classic sauce, rather than overpowering it.
