Los Anafrez Taqueria and Grill
7111 Roosevelt, Berwyn
Ino's has some competition in the area.
Stopped by and it was a pretty routine Taqueria. Steak and El Pastor tacos, while exhibiting a good char, nothing special. While he does have a gas grill it was sitting cold.
The owner was speaking pretty highly about the cecina which was the standout of the evening,
Cecina (dried beef) TacoThis taco was stuffed with more than the usual meat.
The Torta Milanesa, he mentioned was on an Italian bun, was pretty good. The fluffier bun does change the sandwich.

The salsa came out steaming hot (chips and salsa included with every dine-in) and had a rich, deep red color. I expected a little more smoky, chipotle flavor and it had a pretty good heat to it.
They will be serving breakfast as well as American specialties such as hamburgers. He did mention a few specialties from the region of Mexico City that the cuisine is based on.
Lets hope that his specialties will live up to his billing as for now the biggest thing he will have going for him is the long hours. 7 am to 3 am M-Th and 24 hours F-Su.
