My mom likes Charlie's Charhouse in Elkgrove Village. Its near her house and accessible since she walks with a walker.

I would like to take her to places in the city but the traffic makes her nervous and there isn't always a reliable handicap parking spot, and possibly stairs or steps up somewhere. Even one step in the interior of the place is a deal breaker or a big step up outside.

We also go to Macaroni Grill in Wheaton and its accessible too.

The Flame in Countryside is a good choice for a senior friendly celebration. A steakhouse in name but a broad menu in a non intimidating, lovely setting. Trust me, my mom is 88, and quite fussy. You will not be disappointed.

It's an old-school Supper Club type of place, complete with relish trays, and it's been in its location, probably virtually unchanged, since 1931. You can drop off your seniors at the entrance, then proceed to the ample parking lot.

In many ways, it's similar to (but much larger than) Charcoal Oven - also very senior-appropriate. There's a report of the recent LTH dinner at Charcoal Oven here.
