Whole beef tenderloins...$2.99 a pound, Caputo's on Harlem

We drove out to Caponies on Harlem for a pizza this afternoon, and on the way home, stopped at Caputo's to pick up some fruit and veggies. Strolling past the poultry/meat aisle, I couldn't help but notice whole beef tenderloins priced at $2.99 a pound. Most seemed smaller than 5 lbs, so I'm guessing select.

Two weeks ago, Brookhaven market in Burr Ridge had tenderloins for either $6.00 or $7.99. Mostly choices but I also saw several primes in their cyrovac casings. Don't know how those slipped in.Evil Ronnie wrote:LTH,

Post #4 - October 22nd, 2009, 7:33 pmWhile I haven't seen the store ad for this, my guess it is the beef comng in from Mexico. I bought some several week back and it did have a stronger "game" taste when grilled. That said, I have had other beef from Mexico that did not have the stronger taste and was fine.
At that price, try it, what can you loose?

It'd be a lot cooler if you posted this 2 weeks ago. I'm at Brookhaven twice a week and failed to find these bad riders

Never thought to post this but by the time you would have read this, they would have been gone! Guess you just had to be there.
