captain curt's bbq? yes. the shazaam part, however, i don't remember.
it's been about two or three years, so my memory's not exactly fresh. i'd say it's a typical southside bbq joint -- above average if the sauce is important to you. i believe they have a couple of different varieties (more than the regular/hot duo that most places offer). the hot variety is my preference -- both at captain curt's and in general.
as far as the important part goes, their meat comes off an aquarium smoker; the highlight of the menu is the rib tips (appropriately charred, slightly crunchy, not too skimpy, and reasonably priced).
street parking is available (and unless you live nearby, you should drive -- taxis are rare in that neighborhood and public transit from most of chicago to chatham is...eh...inconvenient). and therein lies the issue: if we're driving a few miles (or more) for bbq, my preference is uncle john's. although my experience with both is limited, i feel the quality of uncle john's meat is superior and his smoking process more flavorful. barbara ann's is also nearby if they are more to your liking.
another favorite of mine in the vicinity is DDS barbeque on the corner of south chicago and cottage grove....although that may have as much do with it being around the corner from a friends's house in woodlawn as the quality of 'cue.
