I wanted to go to Nightwood, but was too late with the reservation. How bad is the crowd after 9 or so? Could l even think of sitting at the bar? It's only 2 of us...

Any other suggestions that don't involved getting super dressed up? Lula doesn't take reservations.. what else in that range would be good around 9pm? I want a place that is kind of chill, does not have shared tables (no urbanbelly or Avec I guess) but won't be annoyingly crowded and takes reservations.

I did my 30th birthday at Blackbird. I liked the atmosphere and the highly satisfying food. It was probably my second favorite meal ever. A close second after Vie.

Blackbird.. maybe.. I just called Publican and they don't have anything till 10 pm. I always found Blackbird to be intimidating, kind of small inside and not very chill (from the outside at least) but I have been wanting to go there someday for the food if not the atmosphere.

Go to Nightwood and sit at the kitchen bar. For sure.
Otherwise, do the same at Avec. DONE.

You don't have to get super dressed up at Blackbird. I found the room to be cozy but we were luckily seated near to the kitchen. Kahan was in the house too but this was a few years ago. Let me know what you decide. I have a birthday coming up soon so I'm looking for ideas.

Call GNR Sweets & Savories if you just don't want to go to Nightwood. I went for the first time last weekend and really enjoyed it. I'm anxious to get back over there for brunch if I can manage it. Bonus? It's BYOB if that matters to you.

I would think you would be okay at Nightwood or at Lula's at 9 pm (not much of a wait).

    Have a great time.
