Stopped by today at a few locations while on my errands and tried a few pieces.

Surprisingly good! A world of difference from the last free offer where the pieces were dry and not very good at all.

Hot, juicy (running down the chin juicy) and a good flavor. Without the breading you can see how tiny the pieces of chicken truly are.

Anybody know how the chicken is "grilled?" I ask, because when I worked as a short-order cook as a college side job, they introduced what they called "Chicken Grillas," unbreaded deep-fried chicken patties with "grill marks" drawn on them with caramel food coloring. I am, as a result, suspicious of a fried food place offering "grilled" foods.

My understanding is that the meat gets real grill marks in a central factory and is then cooked in an oven at the individual locations.

I don't know how I came to this understanding, though, so I might be making it up.

edit: nevermind, looks like it is getting grill marks in-store. that does make more sense, no?

The roaster uses a patented non-stick "grill plate" to stripe the chicken with grill markings. The cooking process is designed to yield tastier, juicier chicken.

One more note. The breast was a touch drier but still very tender.

Thank you, gleam - at least it isn't deep-fried.

It had been a good twenty-five years this summer since the last time I had had KFC (I love Original Recipe, but it just seemed too "bad for me" and that kept me away for an entire generation!), but this summer I had a couple of pieces of Original Recipe and a couple pieces of Grilled, and I was surprised how much I liked the Grilled. I expected it to be a poor substitute, something you'd only eat because you were trying to be "healthier," but I was curious enough to give it a try. It tasted like chicken, and somehow, even better, it tasted like Kentucky Fried Chicken.
