Sun Wah is back in action. I had lunch there today, their first official day back open again. The space is large and lovely. There are lots of new big tables and a light airy feel to the room.

The area where the BBQ meats are cut up and the to-go counter is now located inside the main room, just inside the door, and is completely enclosed in glass for an open kitchen feeling.

It's time for a Welcome Back Blowout Dinner at Sun Wah

Join me for a feast next Saturday night. I'm sure Peking Duck will be served, but who knows what other delights await us? I can promise you won't go away hungry. Kelly assures me that they will be ready for a big group by next Saturday and says the more the merrier, so sign up here for the first LTH event at the new Sun Wah. Come one, come all.

    Date: 11/07/09
    Time: 7:00 P.M.
    Place:
    Sun Wah
    5041 N. Broadway
    Chicago, IL

Great photo of the space. I'll be there with my family this Sunday, but we have nowhere near the ordering power of a group of LTHers. I'm in.

Aargh, I'll be at a wedding that night and won't be able to make it. The space looks great though. Hopefully I'll be able to get there soon.

You got it all wrong. Mama happy_stomach doesn't like sweets. It was 17 orders of fried pig intestine after porchetta at Mado.

I'm going to cap this at 25 people for now. After the next person signs up, everyone else will go on a waiting list. I want to talk to Kelly in the next couple of days to see how their first weekend went and ask her how many she is comfortable hosting in our group.

I just talked to Kelly at Sun Wah. They had a grueling weekend and have recommended keeping our dinner to no more than 30 people as they ramp up service. Our menu will feature a nice assortment of their most popular dishes, but they don't want to get too "out there" just yet. It looks like we are having the following "old standbys":

    Peking Duck
    Mike’s Fried Chicken
    Hong Kong Pork
    Salt & Pepper Squid
    Deep fried garlic ribs
    Some type of veggie dish

Here is the updated official list of attendees:

    Stevez
    Octarine
    Fifille
    ronnie_suburban +3
    happy_stomach
    Bruthsmirnoff
    tarte tatin
    Jazzfood +1
