The seventh annual Festival of Wood and Barrel Aged Beer will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009. The event venue is the same as last year and will offer two tasting sessions. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $35. Tickets purchased at the door will cost $45, if available.

Full details are available at the Illinois Craft Brewers site.

I highly recommend this event to anyone interested in tasting lots of great beers. I went last year and I couldn't believe how good the beer list was. Not only were local breweries very well represented but some top west coast beer that you can't otherwise find in town, like Russian River and Firestone Walker, had some premium offerings as well. There are so many interesting ways breweries can use barrel-aging to add new and unique flavors to their beers, and the FOBAB is the only place I can think of to sample so many barrel-aged beers next to eachother. My tickets are already bought.

Afternoon session was sold out when I found out about it, so I'm stuck in the evening.

I'll be at the evening session. We're doing coalfire before hand then walking over.

I'm not sure if I need to start a "fresh" thread on this but this year's FOBAB is scheduled for 11/16, and tickets went on sale today. Tickets came and went, actually, in a matter of minutes.

I did get tickets to the evening session, but I'm looking to trade them for the afternoon. If anyone is interested, please PM me. We can also use this as an opportunity to discuss if other LTH'ers will be in attendance.

    Thanks in advance.

I grabbed a couple (limit 2) right at noon when they went on sale, logged in to buy a 3rd and they were already sold out. If anyone wants to part with an evening ticket, send me a PM.
