    Ritz-Carlton or Old Country Buffet.

A little more info, price, location, type of group, would yield more informative responses.

    Hi

you may want to look at this thread -
    viewtopic.php?f=14&t=16418

Also many of the local papers had features on this a week or so ago. The only buffet I remember seeing in any of them was Lockwood at the Palmer House Hilton.

A quick search came up with the following threads. There are a few more that are older.

    thanksgiving dinner dining-out suggestions
Traditional Thanksgiving Dinner in Downtown Restaurant
    thanksgiving north
    Thanksgiving dinner in Northwest suburbs

I do find that Metromix can be helpful in answering what restaurants are having Thanksgiving buffets.

The Signature Room at the 95th

We're doing a "hybrid" Thanksgiving experience. we will be offering a raw bar, charcuterie, cheeses and salads on Holiday relish bar as well as number of desserts including the classics.

The entree portion of the menu we are doing a plated service with family style sides. Please check out the following link:[url]
http://www.signatureroom.com/Upcoming-Events/ with all of the details. We felt that it would allow us to give a much nicer dinner to the guest by plating the entree portion and it also gives families an opportunity to sit together during that portion of their meal vs. people getting up and walking back and forth.

We are about 150 reservations away from selling out-so you'll need to act quickly.

    Wally,

As LTHForum is a discussion board, you posted the question here, and others may find the info useful, I am moving your email response here.

"Gary: Ritz is not out of the question. Old Country is, at least for that day.
Live in the northern burbs. Wisconsin is ok, so is downtown Chicago.
Would not consider Lovells in Lake Forest, the pits, along with Deerpath Inn.
Want a nice time, $ 50 per person + is ok. + Wine.
    Thanks,
    Wally Wade

    Wally,

I am not personally up on T-Day meals in Chicago, either we visit my out of town parents for T-Day or, if in Chicago, I cook with the Salvation Army. In the past we have had enjoyable T-Day meals at Mike Ditka's. May seem an odd choice, but they serve late, so we can go after the Salvation Army cook, and have turducken, fried turkey and roasted turkey. If I remember correctly, and it has been a few years, while not a buffet it is all you care to eat of all three types of turkey and sides, and has been fun and quite tasty.

I should also point out there is no garyw.com, at least not associated with me. My email addresses are gwiv@gwiv.com or gary@wiviott.com

    Enjoy,
    Gary

For the past two years we have had Thanksgiving dinner at the Carleton of Oak Park Hotel. They have the usual main dishes and sides, as well as several dessert options. We have enjoyed it quite a bit, and will be going again this year (btw: I'd recommend making a reservation - they get pretty busy)

No recommendations as I have never been in Chicago for Thanksgiving. However, reservations are a MUST no matter where you end up.

One place where we really enjoyed a Christmas Dinner was at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, WI.

I've never been there before, but Mr. Pie's family and I will be dining at D'Andrea in Crystal Lake. It looks like a nice place from the website, and the menu looks promising:

Authentic Mexican restaurants are great for thanksgiving. A lot of times they will stay open and have their family gathering there while serving customers. Some anal people might not like that, but it is very homey and there is a TON of food.
