Just ate at a new place at Diversey and Kedzie that has been "opening soon" for months. Nice little storefront with a simple and extremely inexpensive menu. I had a pretty decent Jibaro for $2.50. Tasty sauce with a nice garlic flavor. Plantains were a bit dry but for $2.50 it was a good, filling sandwich.
The menu is heavy on egg based sandwiches, I believe they open at 6 am so it's definitely a good spot to grab a sandwich on the way to work if it's on your route. In addition to the 7 or 8 egg plus other ingredient sandwiches, there are Skirt Steak, Chicken, Tillapia, BBQ Pork and a "Loco Sandwich" which has a little bit of everything. The prices range from $1.00 all the way up to $5.00. Definitely an affordable option.
