This is the time for the annual cookie exchange.
We would meet at my place on December 13 at 2PM.
I would like to keep the group to maximum of 10 people.
Please RSVP and if you are not sure don't put your name on the list at all.
This keeps the space open for a person who can actually attend, I had numerous
no shows last year which was very annoying as people double booked themselves.
Everyone went to a great deal of trouble to make wonderful cookies so I want to make
sure that there are people who will appreciate it.

    Attendees:
    Cookie Monster: TBA
    Ms Ingie: Gingersnaps
    Irisabor: Gingerbread chocolate drop cookies
    Pie Lady: Pistachio Cream Sandwiches
    Leek: Bourbon Balls
    Cathy2: Doom Bars
    Kafein: TBA
    Diane CK: Potato Chip Cookies
    fortsw: TBA
    justjoan: TBA

Now that the exchange is on the 13th as opposed to the 6th, I'd like to attend. Not sure how long it lasts, but I'll need to leave by 3:30 p.m. to attend a Christmas program.

Do we need to say what type of cookie we intend on bringing?

    Regards,

    Ms. Ingie

YOu can mention the cookie closer to the event.
Usually the cookies exchange is about 2 hours at most.
Look forward to seeing you there.

    Hi Dobra,
    Looking forward to joining you-
The extra week will give me extra time to bake.
My college age daughter might join me this year- she's a maybe...
but I'm not sure if we'd bring two kinds of cookies or just one-
thinking of either pumpkin-white chocolate chip cookies
or maybe gingerbread chocolate chip cookies
have to try out the second ones- a test run of the first went well..
That will also be the first weekend of Hannukah-
    So we can doubly celebrate
    Take care

I'll be there! How many dozens should we bake? And should we pre-bag them or just bring them on a big tray?

Really, that's it. That'll be one cookie per person. I'm willing to bring four dozen; what does everyone else think?

I think Dobra meant bake one dozen cookies per person attending the exchange. If 12 people attend, bake 11 dozen cookies.

To be exact one dozen per person and then for a tasting bring how every many people there are.
So for example if 10 people attend you bring 10 dozen packaged and ten for tasting which makes the grand total 130.

I wish I could make this. I've given up on cookie exchanges. There are too many people out there who dip pretzels into melted chocolate and think it is a cookie fit for exchange! If there was ever a cookie exchange to change my mind, this would be it! Have fun everyone!

This exchange is looking good we have seven attendees so far.
I welcome everyone to post what they are bringing so we do not have
people bringing the same cookies. I am still not sure what I will be making,
the pressure to come up with something different each year is too much. :)

I'm new to Chicago and the LTH Forum, but I heard great things about you all, and I love cookie exchanges!

If there's still space available, I'd like to attend, and I'll make sesame biscotti cookies.

On the details: I understand I should bring a dozen cookies for every attendee and 1 additional cookie for each attendee for sampling at the exchange. Should I bring anything else? Also, I'll need the event location - however that gets sent out!

    Thanks.

    Look forward to meeting you!

Do we have a "closed on" date after which our numbers are set? I've started working on my cookies since they are much better if they sit for a few days (tonight I'm mixing the dry ingredients)

Heck, they can sit for weeks, and they just get better :)
