I have a friend who is really sick, so I wanted to bring her some great take-out over the next few weeks as she is locked at home for three weeks. Can anyone offer some great take-out ideas within the city of Chicago. To be more exact, within Bucktown, Lincoln Park, Lakeview, etc. I already was thinking of La Pasadita one night, she loves tacos and Cermitas Pueblas as well. There is nothing we won't eat, so no limitation on diet, likes or dislikes. Just something that will survive a car ride.

    Thanks in advance.

Chicken from Papa's Cache Sabroso, kefta or kababs from Chickpea, pierogi and soup from Podhalanka, Cuban or other sandwiches from Habana Libre, ...

If you are willing to go as far west as Cemitas Puebla, the Brown Sack is another option (but they close early).

    Hope she feels better soon!

Honestly, when I'm sick, I love Potbelly's delivery. Beef sandwich and a strawberry banana shake. No joke. Their soup is also pretty solid.
When I lived in Lincoln Park, I used to carry out from Allende about twice a week. Besides being dirt cheap, their food really does travel well. Veggie burritos, better than decent al pastor, huevos con chorizo, and incredible cheese fries. You can feed two EASILY for $10.

I think Indian food travels extremely well, and, if it lasts until the next day, is usually just as good if not better.
If I was holed up sick, with no dietary restrictions, Indian food would make my week.

    Hemas in LP?
    Indian Grill?

CEODeliveries.com delivers from a wide selection of restaurants, some good, some not so much. The site lists what is available based on zip code. I've used this frequently when working late nights, the service to downtown is typically fast and the food arrives hot.

Not only does Sticky Rice have fantastic Thai food and fit your geographic area, they also make a real effort to package their items to withstand take-out/delivery (hot stays hot, cold stays cold, and most importantly: crispy stays crispy)

Irazu, oatmeal shake and milanesa. Really anything from there is delicious and inexpensive. If you're in the mood for roast chicken and some fresh salads, I do Metropolis for delivery every now and then, and don't forget about Honey 1.

How about pizza from D'amato's? We often reheat it in the toaster oven. Their arancini are so good. There's also Bari and for another tacqueria, I really like Taco El Jaliciense‎.

I'd recommend take out from Tac Quick on the north side or Opera down by Roosevelt. I've never been disappointed.
    GOOD TIMES!

I know I've been talking about The Bagel a lot lately, but honestly, for someone who is ailing, The Bagel's Chicken-in-the-Pot, a wonderfully rich chicken soup with matzo ball, kreplach, noodles, carrots, and boiled potato--a concoction sometimes known as Jewish Penicillin, which has curative powers that work non-denominationally--could be just what the doctor ordered.
