Guess I can chime in here too. This is my first post, even though Gary from LTH has been trying to get me on the site here for over a year now. I have ate here quite a number of times and have been most blown away by the food. Quite a regular of the Randolph St. District and have found this place to be the most welcome surprise. Very quaint inside, way more then any other place on the block and the food has surprised me so much. Especially since the chef changes up the specials weekly and is very adventurous.
I love ceviche and that was one of the reasons I kept coming back, with chunks of grouper, scallops and shrimp topped with caviar and in the interim have tried many of the other dishes. I really enjoyed the duck confit, the pumpkin gnocchi, grilled octopus salad, suckling lamb and the chicken brochette.
I am always surpised how the fish specials are always cooked to perfection and are very fresh, which is nice they have up to 6 new ones every week on the menu. What a treat! I never get tired of whats available.
I have ate at Wabi and Avec a few times a week for years now, because I always eat late so its so nice to see that their kitchen is open till 11 on weekdays. This place has stolen the others business since I started coming here in the fall. If your looking for something new and want to stay away from the noise / seen and be seen crowds. This might be your best option for the whole neighborhood. Its truly a hidden gem.
