    tortminder,

Thanks for posting that recipe! I've got a big jar of homemade brandied cherries (made with sour cherries from this Spring) and cherry cordials sound like a great way to use some (aside from just drinking Manhattans).

I just got back from Publix (grocery store in SE -im in Florida) and they have the Brach's Chocolate Covered Cherries ... now made by Farley's.. i only bought two boxes.. just wanted to check to see if they were the same ole goodies i remember looking for the last 10 years. THEY ARE EXACTLY PERFECTLY THE OLD BRACH'S RECIPE...i'll be buying more tomorrow. I called all my aunts and my mom, who always had them stocked in their homes for me as a kid.. yummy... then i posted it on Facebook, what a fine.. yum yum!!!!

They're nothing like Brach's, but we have been enjoying Solidarnosc brand Cherries in Liqueur from Poland. Dark chocolate shell and potent filling. We got them at Garden Fresh.

Spotted some chocolate covered cherries at Aldi today.

Spotted and purchased a box of 10 Zachary chocolate covered cherries at the Graceland Dollar store in the strip mall with the post office and the Chinese buffet:

Normally would not purchase any edible products of sold there but I had checked up on the company and these cherries are produced in the U.S.

Not bad for the price - much larger that the Brach's - or for what they are. Do they remind me of Brach's? No but will do the job if you've got a craving.
Coming to you from Leiper's Fork, TN where we prefer forking to spooning.

I grew up with these too - Dad used to give each of us kids a box of these (and other stuff, of course) at Christmas. Chocolate-covered cherries and orange slices are the candies of Christmas to me. I'm glad to see Brach's brought back something like them in response to popular demand.

I also purchased the Zachary Chocolate Cherries. Not quite up to what I remember from Brach's, but a lot better than anything else on the shelves.
