Does anyone have any good recommendations for a good Chinatown place that is also family friendly, well toddler friendly for Christmas Day.

I was thinkign of joining the 12/24 event, but our two year old may be a little overwelmed.

    Thanks for your ideas.

We did Lau Sze Schuan last year, arrived a little before noon and were seated immediately. Wonderful food as always and kids don't seem to be a problem. We'll probably do that again this year and then go to the movies. A couple years back we went to Moon Palace on Cermak, also no wait and good food. I like it even better now that it's been renovated, the cuisine seems to have picked up too.

You might look at this thread: Chinatown with a kid. You'll have to double-check hours on the 25th, but it will give you a good idea of kid-friendliness.

Moon Palace is good, but Dec. 25 has become a very popular date, and I would advise reserving if you decide to go there at a prime hour. Emperor's Choice is another popular favorite on that date, but I haven;t been in some years.

What is a place that would be "unpopular"? We are looking for something in the Chinatown mall that would not be crowded, and we would probably be bringing our 5 yr old kid in the pm, maybe around 3 or 4? What time is the most crowded- does it get busier later or thin out?

I can't speak to Christmas, but we are fans of Happy Chef. I've been taking my daughter since she was 1 - she is now 6 and has a 2 yo brother.

I like being in the pedestrian mall as it gives the kids space to stretch their legs.
