I'm surprised no one's posted this yet, but I can't think of a better forum where this would be appreciated:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2005/04/17/travel/17airline.html?

And here's the Web site the article is referring to:

    http://airlinemeals.net/

I was most amused by the Air India meals and most impressed with Japan Air's food.

Funny... On my way to and from Hong Kong, I found it interesting that I was served instant ramen noodles on UA in those stryofoam bowls. I knew I should have taken a photo... ;)

That's cool. The Concorde meal with cheese service and caviar looks ok.

Looked up some of the "3rd World" airlines I've flown on. Really brings you back. Like Chinese restaurants, the crummier the physical plant (unfortunately, here, the equipment) the better the food.

Thanks for posting this! Wish I could come up with the right adjectives to describe some of these meals.

Crazy C...Your instant ramen noodles on the way to Hong Kong reminded me of a time when on a flight to Mexico City I was served apple pancakes with maple syrup and a big side of salsa.

I have to say, some of these pics make me not look forward to our in-flight meals on British Air when I fly to Istanbul this summer...(except maybe for the sausages). At least I know I should bring some snacks with me.

One of the pictures revealed the AA first or business class used to have a cavier cart, which they got rid of with the recent cutbacks. I haven't seen the Concorde pics, but the AA one looked very yummy.

I've had the best food on European carriers, and the worst on UA.
    Leek
