Amusing -- but the blogger interestingly includes a few foods that are highly valued gourmet delicacies, including huitlacoche, as well as cultural icons, such as natto (which, in addition to being delicious, is also amazingly good for you). In both cases, it seemed to be the appearance primarily that put him off -- particularly the huitlacoche, which I grant does look like what it is -- corn smut. But I do agree that some of the stuff looks nasty. I think it's funny that he tried the dog treats. I can remember how disappointing the doggy "chocolates" were that we got for our dog (yes, we tasted them -- the smelled great, but were clearly not formulated for human tastes -- but then we should all remember that a dog will sometimes roll in the poo of another dog, so I wouldn't expect them to be defining "umami" quite the way I do).

This was hilarious. I had to cover my mouth-- not from retching but-- to stifle the peals of laughter.

I don't know which one is my favorite, chocolate human milk or the silkworms.

Years ago, ReneG gifted me with a can of silkworms (larvae, as in pic), which we ate...after horrifying a group of local kiddies with them.

Never added chocolate to human milk and may have missed my chance for that.
