We're looking for one of the better taco places who'd be able to do catering for a party of 60. Does anyone know if Pasadita or Asadero or any place like that does catering?

    trpt,

While not exactly a taqueria, Nuevo Leon (18th st. location) was going a very brisk to-go business on the 24th. The boxes and aluminum trays were nicely packaged and the staff appeared to be very much on top of things.

That's a good idea, they're close to our west loop location too. Thanks.

Our office frequently uses Perez Restaurant on West Randolph for parties, client lunches etc.. Food is very good and they deliver.

Yes, Pasadita does catering. I had it for a baby shower once at someone's home.

I hate recommending myself, but if noone else steps up to the plate I guess I'm forced to do it.

While we don't do strictly Mexican food, it is one of our favorites. The best thing about ordering from FIG versus a restaurant is that we can customize the food for you and your group (from mild to extra spicy, vegetarian/vegan, gluten free, all organic, or whatever), we deliver and set-up in timely and efficient way, and we are committed to using local and sustainable food products (not to mention biodegradable and/or recyclable trays and plates).

On the sly/cheap, price out the Jimenez grocery store nearest you. The one I've used before (Buffalo Grove) doesn't do any kind of setup, or plates or napkins, ONLY food trays. Mid grade to solid stuff, but priced very well. If setup is not a concern, and you can get ppl to play along, and bring stuff, Jimenez might be a decent option.

Thanks for all the suggestions. In the end we went with Carnitas Don Rafa on south Kedzie. From Uruapan Michoacan, all things pork. The option we went with had not only carnitas but pork medallions, short ribs and mole. They're way professional, and we had lunch there today which was stellar. Thumbs up.
