I am meeting some folks out in the Oak Park-vicinity for late breakfast--brunch and am looking for some suggestions for places to take them.

It would have to be kid-friendly and relatively low-key.

I'm hoping that someone can turn me on to some killer chilaquiles joint in Berwyn or something!

I didn't find much in the LTHForum search engine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can use some of these names to search:

Maya del Sol is kid-friendly and low key, house made chorizo, great brunch drinks. Winberie slightly more commercial and busy but some neat bells and whistles like fondue (a mix of buffet and table service). Depot Diner rocks for quality to price, ventilation is not so hot if you're headed elsewhere afterward. Xni-Pec has offered a wonderful brunch many weekends this year, but please to call and check with them to make sure they're open on your desired weekend. Taste of Brazil is unique, a family-run storefront with small bites for tiny prices and great coffee, again, you'd need to check to make sure they're open (they took a bunch of holiday time off and also had a minor renovation issue).

I have soured slightly on brunch at Wishbone; service is just not there and some of the items (corn cakes with "red pepper sauce" being one example, after sounding so good) are very sloppily prepared and plated.
