I'm trying to get an idea from those that have gone if it makes sense to go to Bonsoiree on NYE. It's $90 for 5 courses so a definite premium over the standard prices. Most of the posts speak highly of Bonsoiree but I have begun to gather that a lot of people like it for the price, particularly the low price of the 3 course options.

I have to admit, $90 is steep, especially when Spring's NYE menu is $90 for 5 courses as well.

Bonsoiree is BYOB - so the calculation is simple! Corkage fee vs. wine list mark-up. The food is fantastic at both places, but stop in a favorite wine shop before Bonsoiree and splurge for one-third or one-half the cost!

Not cheap but not particularly high for NYE; be prepared for sticker shock at many places. (My goodness, even Sweets & Savories is coming in at $80 for their late night seatings, and Mado's at a $100! Presumably, they'll make the extra effort to justify the upscale pricing with a memorable occasion.)

My wife and I would have gone for NYE - the menu looks quite good, and the extra price for the holiday is not that much - but we were just there 1 week ago for our anniversary. It was a great meal that I still need to post about, but in the meantime I'd still highly recommend Bonsoiree for anybody considering it at any time. It's one of our favorites in Chicago.

I called and never got a call back, so I guess I wasn't one of the chosen ones. I am a huge fan and I went last year. It was worth every penny. This year it's May St. Market for me with the wine pairing, $100. The menu at Bonsoiree is much more interesting, you want to give up your reso, email me. I'm assuming you have one, because if you don't it's not an option.
