Hilton Head area?

We're driving to Hilton head, staying on the island, but plan on lots of day trips in area. Haven't been in many years, but always found local good spots hard to find. Lots of chains and big money eats, but that's not we're looking for at all on this trip. What are some of your good eats finds and also how about some interesting things to see that may not be in the travel guides?

We were in Hilton Head a few years back and visited a place called the Sage Room. Very good. It was a little hard to find at the time because it is in the back part of a strip mall. They offered everything from seafood to steaks. Small place but very good. We sat up at the food bar area which overlooks the open kitchen.

My cousin lives down there but I have yet to visit her. When I go down I will check out those places.
