On February 13th Bennison's is going to be holding its first ever Paczki eating contest. We're looking for eight teams of two to take part in the competition. What we need from each contestant is that they find sponsors to pledge money for each Paczki eaten. The money we collect will be given to the American Red Cross for Haitian relief efforts.

    1st prize is $75 Bennison's gift cards, $200 cash and a Bennison's T-Shirt. 2nd through 8th place teams will recieve a $25 Bennisons gift card and a Bennison's T-Shirt for their efforts.

The Competition will begin at 3 PM on the 13th. If you are interested in taking part in the competition please call Guy Jr. during the day at 847-328-9434 or in the evening at 312-882-8779. We hope everyone is doing well and look forward to seeing you at the competition.

I'd enter if it was BYOP, because Bennison's are nothing to write home about.

Maybe then you'd want to eat them fast. I'd like to participate, but I'm busy raising money to race up the 180 floors of the Presidential Towers for the American Lung Association. I'm thinking that building up paczki-eating endurance and building up stair-climbing endurance might be a conflict of interest.

You need some carbs to climb all those stairs! ;-)

I'm training for the Hustle up the Hancock, only 94 floors. I started training late and I'm not yet at my fighting weight, so no paczki-eating contest for me.

Then at least make sure you celebrate afterward! I don't know about paczki near the Hancock, but if I was doing the Hustle, I'd have my post race meal at the new Water Works Center location of First Slice. Pie!

Even before I read about Bennison's contest, I thought I might celebrate my 180 floors with some paczki from Delightful Pastries at the nearby French Market. Then I realized my race is on a Sunday. :(
