    JIm,

Looking forward to this event! Put me down plus one. Will probably bring a sack of crawfish or 2, and one of my boiling pots. Sweet corn and potatoes. I will volunteer as a judge and I am KCBS certified! Thanks,

I'd rather judge than compete this time around, so I'll happily take that last judge's spot.

I'll bring some food and beverage, and will also chip in for the piggy.

Jim sorry I haven't reposted, I had to check the dates my MIL wants the kids for this summer, I'd still like to participate in the rib cook-off, if only to get some pointers (need to practice in the meantime! :D), and I'll have my family (SaintPizza, 3 kids) with me. I can also kick in toward the pig. I don't know anything about BBQ competitions though, any guidelines or links to guidelines you can send me?

great Jim, Ill add you, just a friendly rib cook-off, all about sharing tips, and bbq.

Heres a link to the KCBS rules sheet:

    http://www.kcbs.us/pdf/KCBS_Rules_and_R ... s_2009.pdf

just using the KCBS scoring system as a guideline,

I am doing probably 3 slabs of BB ribs, one to turn in, and the others just for some samples for others(and myself).. :D

Other than the scoring system the rules are pretty loose, with only one main rule, have some fun. :)

    Jim,

Since you are nearing your upper limits, why not provide the list so we can double-check if we are on there?

Jim, please add me to the waitlist, and if I make it to the regular list, I'll throw my hat in the ring for the cookoff. . . . Plus chip in for the Piggy. . . .and maybe some smoked sausages or something.

Holy cow (or pig, as it were) - I can't ever plan this far ahead, but there's a strong possiblity I could go - please put me on the wait list. I'd hate to miss it because I didn't speak up soon enough.

I will chip in for the pig if I can go, make it off the wait list, etc. Thanks for doing this!

A slight change to this June gathering. After alot of thought and some discussion I have decided to nix the BB rib throwdown portion so I can concentrate on the pig roasting(beer and tequila drinking and eating :D ) aspect of this get together.

I hope no one minds, and I appreciate the interest by the folks who wanted to do it as well as those who volunteered to judge.

Folks can still bring their smokers and smoke meat as their potluck item(cant have too much meat imho), I believe I will be doing some ABT's, a shoulder or a butt, and some hot links.

I think this change will allow for more fun to be had by all.

Sounded like a good concept initially when I thought of it.. :D

but after thinking about it, the time constraints, and the nonsense I see on Pitmasters, I'd rather share than compete.
