If I had my way, I would work my way through the list of wonderful Indian restaurants in the Schaumburg region. My usual occasion for dinner in Schaumburg is pre-theater at Prairie Center. However, the other couple that we usually go there with wrinkle their nose whenever I suggest Indian, or any other exotic spot. I've gotta get better friends.
Believe it or not, you can get pretty decent Greek food in Schaumburg. I noticed this spot a year or two ago while driving along scenic Golf Rd. I pulled in for lunch. If I remember correctly, I had the Pastichio.
We had dinner there last night with the Finicky Couple. I, along with the male half of the Finicky Couple had the salmon special stuffed with spinach and wrapped in phyllo. An ample portion for $16.95. My Favorite Dining Companion had the spanakotiropita and we shared a Greek salad. The female half of the Finicky Couple had Athenian chicken. I'm not a huge fan of saganaki. But we shared one as an appetizer. Very good bread.
As usual, we were too stuffed for dessert. Plus we had to skidaddle off to the theater. Now I've gotta find another reason to have dinner in Schaumburg with other people.
