Does anyone have a recommendation for a place to get an espresso machine repaired. My Saeco has a blocked grinder and I'm trying to resist the urge to take a screwdriver to it myself. North/Northwest side of Chicago preferred.
    Thanks

Yes, go to espresso world. I can't remember the owner's name, but he is extremely nice. He's an authorized repairman for a number of the best brands of espresso equipment and can service just about all of the rest. This is a small place and the owner travels periodically to service larger units in restaurants. So call ahead and make an appointment to show up. The shop may be a little difficult to find at first. It does have a sign out front and is in the garden unit of the building.

Thanks for the rec. A friend brought the machine in for me today and reported that Husso, the owner, is a very personable, chatty guy. He fixed the machine on-the-spot in his basement/warehouse. Apparently there were lots of machines in various stages of refurbishment so it might not be a bad spot to get a machine. It cost $65 for close to an hours worth of work (which seems very reasonable). Just had an espresso and everything seems to be working great!

Yes, they do. But, they gave me a little push back about getting something repaired that wasn't purchased from them. I also asked about having a grinder repaired and they said they never serviced one before. In short, they have a service department but it isn't quite a "full service" facility.
