Ash Manor and Fricano's

Anyone remember these? The former was in an old mansion (is that building still there?) at Diversey and Ashland. Have no recollection of what the food was like (this was back in '83-'84), but I can just see us sitting in what I think was the cozy main dining room. How long has this place been gone, btw?
The latter was somewhere on Halsted, and as I recall something of a hot-spot - but just for a few years because it suddenly seemed to disappear. Had good calamari, which is all I can recall; and almost no decor - just a storefront.

The building housing Ash Manor became a real estate office but was torn down for yet another bank branch several years ago.

Funny, the grilled calamari is all I remember of it also. I think it was located north of Fullerton on the west side of the street. Did that location become Uncle Tannous?

Fricano's was at 2512 N Halsted, now Goodbar. Uncle Tannous was a block north at 2626 N Halsted, a building that later housed Prodigal Son.
