Pi Day is coming up on 3/14. While we all have great respect for the mathematical significance of pi, we're all really more concerned with pie. I know a lot of the board members celebrate pi with pie, so I'm going to host a pie potluck at our kitchen. It'll be fun, laid-back, and welcoming. I make brew up some savory stew...or something equally simple...so we don't go into sugar overload, but the main star will be pie.

Bake your favorite or try a new recipe. I'm thinking one pie per person will be enough (or, more than enough, in good LTH fashion). I have a lot of room, but not a lot of seats. Thinking of limiting to 10 participants, but if we get more (that are willing to stand) I may open it up and ask for more savory elements.

Please respond here and I'll keep a running tally going. If you know what kind of pie you plan to bring, let us know.

figmolly (sweet pie of some sort, assorted ice cream flavors)
Hellodali (Key lime, chocolate cream, or banana cream)
Mhays +2 (mystery fruit pie, Sparky's experiment, kinda vegan pie)
    stevez (Tuscan bean soup)
    Cathy2 (peach pie)
    boudreaulicious (sweet and savory empanadas)
Pie Lady (Coffee cream, Chocolate or Shaker lemon?)
    thaiobsessed +1 (savory cheese pie)
    RAB
    REB
    Jygach
gastro gnome(Moorish chicken pie - sweet and savory)
    Llama (nut pie?)
    MincyBits (Elvis pie)
    BR (Passionfruit tart)

Total: 18 (Mhays is bringing 4 chairs and if I bring in my ones from home, we'll have enough seating for everyone. I'm really capping in now though.)

If there is room for a pie consumer (I can't bake), count me in (if needed, I could bring a pie from Hoosier Mama).

Being in the catering business, I generally think taste is sacrificed to beauty more often than it should be. I much rather eat a delicious, ugly crust than the other way around.

    Look forward to meeting you.

Please count us in for a sweet pie and a gallon of some good local milk.

Very excited to be a part of this.

I'm thinking savory pie, probably the Moorish Chicken and Pine Nut Pie from The New Spanish table. Although, for those who've had it, there's definitely sugar in there too. Think of it as a sweet pie with chicken :)

    I can either:

    A. Make a pot of soup or
    B. Pick up a Chicken Pot Pie or Hoosier Cream Pie at Hoosier Mama

Please let me know your choice.

P.S. I will bring my own chair.

I already mentioned to figmolly that the Hays family caravans with camp chairs on almost all occasions, so we won't be taking up seats, and may even have an extra. I don't know where that leaves us in terms of space...

I have 4 bar stools, 3 dining chairs, and 3 office chairs on site. I have an additional 4 dining chairs and 2 bar stools at home. With your 4 chairs, I think we're all set.
