Intrigued to see if a hot dog-type restaurant can exist in this spot, I decided to stop by today before a shopping excursion to H Mart & Jerry's. This place is buried in the back of short strip mall at the northwest corner of Oakton & Waukegan, behind Village Creamery. The short-lived Seafood Kitchen was previously at this location.
The menu is typical of hot dogs/sausages (no choking hazard signs posted), burgers, and the usual sides. Also a few Mexican options. They also have wraps and salads.
I chose the "Authentic Polish Kielbasas (Our Foot Long)" - it was on special with fries and a small drink for $5.95. I'm not a Kielbasas expert, but this was a pretty good product. Nicely grilled and served on French bread. The fries are the typical foodservice variety. I would definitely take a pass on the fries next time. Coke products in the fountain.
I was the only guy in the place at around noon. Although there were a few carryout orders while I was there. Flat screen TV was showing the Olympics.
My only other complaint would be that there should be an extra inner door. Every time the front door opened up, a huge amount of cold air came blowing in. The place never got warm.
Not bad for a first visit. I'd give it another try when I'm in the area.
