Attended Taste of Morton Grove last evening, had moderate expectations which were nicely exceeded. The event was very well run, friendly interactive mostly local participants well stocked with signature items, plenty of comfortable seating for dining, often a problem at this type of event, which sparked interesting wide ranging conversations, and an array of games, raffles and silent auctions benefiting worthwhile causes ranging from the Autistic Kids Foundation to the Morton Grove Farmers' Market.

White Eagle space is impossibly huge, the room we were in was football field size, literally, and that's but one section of the facility.

Silent auction items ranged from signed sports memorabilia to BBQ books and sauces.

Best bite of the evening was not from a restaurant, but Orchard Village, a non profit that supports men, women and children with developmental disabilities.

One always hears Firemen cook terrific chili, Morton Grove Fire Department's chili is top of the ladder, spicy, meaty, delicious. Some of, if not the best, chili I've had in years.

Chris, who participates on LTHforum as pizano345, represented Pizano's Glenview. I've not been to Pizano's, but after trying the pizza at Tof MG its now high on my list.

Other favorites of the evening were White Eagles pierogi, El Sol's guacamole, Kappy's, which I have passed eighty two hundred times without stopping, Grecian chicken, and China Chef's General Tso's chicken.

While I did not try, Chocolate Fountain was very popular

A recommended enjoyable evening, interesting conversation, good, if not hyper imaginative, food and pretty young ladies in charge of selling raffle tickets table to table.

Care to buy a Raffle Ticket? Yes, yes I would. :)
