    Hi,
I learned of a crazy burger from Brazil called an X-Tudo (pronounced shees-TOO-du) It translates to "cheese everything". From what I have heard it can vary but they usually have the burger, lettuce, tomato, sausage (halved), bacon, ham, fried egg, cheese, mayo, ketchup and mustard. CRAZY! Are there any places in Chicago that serve this? (Kuma's came to mind)
    Thanks!
    The clown is down!

When I glanced at this thread title, I thought I saw X-Trudo and I was gob smaked at the thought of a restaurant where all of the food is extruded. There's pasta, sure, but what about some fois gras that's been put through one of those play-Doh extruder thingies.

I've found most burgers in Latin America, including Brazil, to be pretty bad. I'd skip the "X-tudo" in favor of more traditional Brazilian snacks. Here in Chicago, That's a Burger's will get you very close. In addition to the novelty ingredients, they are some of the best damn burgers in the state.

Yes. I'm not sure there's any configuration of hamburger with corn on it that I will enjoy. Sadly, like the burgers, I also found the hotdogs in South America pretty awful, which was kinda heart-breaking considering their greatness in other sausages.

I tried an x-tudo for the first time not long ago. I did not love it, although it was an intriguing combination of ham, cheese, burger, bacon, lettuce, tomato and fried potato sticks. I asked them to hold the egg because that would just put it over the top. ;-)

porklet - thank you for the post and especially for the picture. I now feel safest staying far, far away from this thing called x-tudo.

I have yet to meet the meat sandwich that cannot be improved by the addition of a fried egg.

It's not exactly a Brazilian X-Tudo but the hambuguesa at El Duranguito in Maywood is the same in spirit. This baby comes complete with ham, bacon, guacamole, jalapeños, lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard, ketchup and mayonnaise.

It's kind of a fun novelty and maybe not quite as horrifying as it sounds. There are many reasons to visit El Duranguito but the hamburguesa isn't necessarily one of them.

Coming from one who's tackled That's-A-Burger's Whammy Burger, I'd say that's a very scary idea. Here's the basic Whammy.

Can you imagine it with extra cheese, added bacon and a fried egg, with lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard and mayo? Now that I think of it, that's not much different from the following order I overheard during an early visit.

Rene G wrote:The last time I was at TAB, a gentleman of a certain size ordered a Whammy Burger with fried egg, mayo, sport peppers and “all the cheeses.” That’s out of my league though I was impressed enough to congratulate him on his order.

Oh, porklet, thank you for your report! I didn't quote your photo because, honestly, seeing it once is plenty. That X-Tudo looks like it could have come from the Gallery of Regrettable Food (a great site). May I ask where you found that specimen?

Rene G -- I found this regrettable food at a local bakery in Somerville, Massachusetts. Pastelaria Broadway makes mighty fine Brazilian snacks and also specials on the weekends (feijoada, etc,) but the x-tudo can safely be skipped.

Wow. This corn in this picture is either Steve, Don't Eat It or Chuck Palahniuk's wildest dream.
