Dominick's has smallish boxes of Cheerios on sale, 2 for $4. Some of the boxes have a coupon on the back of the box for $1.50 off Pampers. It's a good deal if you're in the market for both. A month or two back, the same boxes were 2 for $3, making them effectively free if you're buying Pampers anyway. Of course if you buy the Pampers at Dominick's, you're not getting a deal at all...

I don't do much couponing as I do not buy many "name brand" items. My wife buys all the cereal as well as doing the Walgreen's rebate program.

Do realize that once you leave the Chicagoland area, there are still a few markets - Cincinnati is one - where some stores double coupons up to a given amount. That might be a help to anyone doing a road trip.

I do believe that Myers in the Chicagoland area does double on some occasions. Waxing nostalgic, this reminds me of the TRIPLE* coupon days in Denver at King Soopers.

No, it wasn't for every coupon. King Soopers would always double coupon value, but when they had their triple coupon sales, they would only triple up to 1.00 off maximum. So, those 25c coupons for things like Quaker oats, and paper products, and Clorox bleach were really worth keeping.
We cannot be friends if you do not know the difference between Mayo and Miracle Whip.

Thanks for the tip! My Dominick's also had one of those flashing coupon dispensers with coupons for $0.75 off two boxes of Cheerios. $3.25 total for two boxes, plus the Pampers coupons equals a good deal in our house. :)

Hi- I just ran across this old post about couponing. Several people said that they bought extra copies of the Sunday paper, so they could get the coupons. I never buy the Sunday paper, but I find lots of coupons. One good place to find lots of Sunday coupons is a busy coffee shop. The Unicorn Cafe in downtown Evanston, has lots of Sunday papers that customers read, and then leave there. I always find lots of coupons that way. Even if you purchase coffee the price of the coffee is less than the price of a Sunday Trib.

I also used to volunteer at the North Park Village center at Pulaski, just South of Peterson. It is run by the Resource Center. This is also a great place to find lots of coupons. If you go there looking for coupons though, PLEASE leave the newspaper bin cleaner than how you found it. We had some people into couponing and refunding that would never bring anything to recycle, but they would come only to look for coupons and proofs of purchase, and wold make a mess of everything. There was one couple that used to show up there, and they were finally asked to leave, and never come back. Apparently the husband would go up to a vehicle where the trunk was open, and help himself to some of the bags of recycling, hoping to find some things he could use. Hope this helps, Nancy

I racked up some very impressive register receipts at the King Soopers at 9th and Corona.
I hate kettle cooked chips. It takes too much effort to crunch through them.

my sister has a website http://thecouponcrate.com where she like takes sales ads and matches them up with all the coupons from places like redplum and shows you what they are so you get extra savings and hopefully free items. I dont really get to into couponing cause I tend to only buy what i need but if your interested in couponing it might be nice to check her site out.
